1.  Warm-up:  Find the perimeter and area of this shape:

**Additional Challenge:  Create your own shape, then find the area and perimeter of it

2.  Lesson 4.3.2  Perimeter and Area of Algebra Tiles

• Objective:  I will calculate the perimeter and area of Algebra Tiles both algebraically (combining like terms) and numerically (evaluating using substitution)
• Problem 86 in teams
• Sketch the shapes from Problem 85 in your notebook and label with the specified NUMBERS.  This is called substitution
• Find the perimeter of each shape numerically.  This is called evaluating.
• Find the area of each shape numerically.  Another way of evaluating.
• Problem 87 individually, then share out in groups.
• Problem 88 in teams.  Resource Managers:  grab a piece of graph paper for everyone in your team.

3.  Closure and Self-Assessment:  a new protocol that will be completed daily.  Today's CSA is Daily Objective (blue)
