2.  Lesson 5.1.1 Part-Percent-Whole

• Objective:  I will begin to solve problems involving part-whole-percent relationships with "percent rulers"
• Percent is the relationship between "part" and "whole"
• Examples: 
•  Your percent on a test is the ratio correct answers : total points
• % daily value is the ratio serving size : daily recommended

Lesson sequence:

Problem #1 in teams.  Page 245 

• Pencils in the middle.  Read the problem, check for understanding, brainstorm strategies
• Pick up pencils and attempt to solve the problem
• If your team is having difficulty, move on to problem #2 for further guidance

Problem #3 in teams.
